The day warmed up and the sun began to show signs of breaking through the dense cloud, so our attentions changed to the land. It wasn’t long before a new unringed Melodious Warbler was found in Cristin Withy, along with at least a quarter of today’s warbler totals. Two Blackcaps, 14 Chiffchaffs, four Willow Warblers and 44 Goldcrests were all seen on the island. The Melodious Warbler provided ample entertainment for many of the visitors and showed well at points throughout the day, whilst the bird at the observatory continued to dwell in the garden.

The mixed group of waders continued to reside in Henllwyn and Solfach with 10 Ringed Plovers, nine Dunlins, one Bar-tailed Godwit, three Redshanks and 76 Turnstones all seen on the Narrows. Elsewhere two Grey Herons, three Water Rails, two Snipes, 43 Swallows, 17 House Martins, 130 Meadow Pipits, one Grey Wagtail, five White Wagtails, 14 Stonechats and five Wheatears, were seen scattered across the island.
